Ballasting (first time)

Let the ballasting begin!

Ballasting is a great way to give your layout the feeling of realism.

Tools:

Eye dropper

Elmer’s school glue

Water

Ballast medium

Brush (makeup brush works great)

70% isopropyl alcohol

Bright boy

Steps:

Put ballast on track spread around as desired. (Use a brush and fingers to move ballast atound)

Remove any extra ballast from ties

Zpray with alcohol so its damp

Mix 50/50 Elmer’s glue with water.

Use eye dropper to apply glue/water mix onto ballast, ensure all ballast is covered with glue/water mix

Let dry over night

Once dry use bright boy to clean rail

Vacume any lose ballast from track

Run some trains & enjoy the look of a great track!
