Build Amtrak Cars (Diner/R.P.O.)

I was able to pick up an Amtrak Locomotive recently and after picking that up I found two Amtrak Passenger Cars at booth when I attended a train show in Puyallup, WA on 1/18/2020. This was a great start to building my passenger fleet.

The first one I found was a diner car. It was in a few pieces but looked like everything was there. And he only have 5$ on it. I thought this is a good opportunity to put together my first car.

Building this was surprisingly easy. Just snap in the windows. bolt in the metal weights. Add the couplers to the trucks. Bolt the tucks to the frame. Push to body onto the frame and you are done.

The second box car I found in the same booth was a R.P.O car. in the little bit of research I did R.P.O stands for Railroad Post Office. This was a cool find and super excited that both trains match. Now ill just need to see if I can find some sleeper cars and continue to grow this train.

One thing that I found was the cars had a different coupler than the Amtrak Locomotive so ill need to update the couplers on the cars so they can connect to the Amtrak locomotive.

Now time to see how it runs on the track.
