by So during my research I quickly found out that there is a new type of HO trains call DCC that have Sounds and more controls like controlling Lights.
So what’s the difference?
DC trails use a power transformer that changed the voltage to the track. Depending on the voltage to the track that depends on how fast or slow the train goes. The higher the voltage the faster the train goes.
DCC sends a constant voltage to the track (between 12 &16 volts AC) and the base station encodes a single that the DCC locomotive picks up via a decoder. By assigning a number to each Train you can control multiple trans on a singe track.
Sounds exciting doesn’t it! I know this made me excited and added fuel to my new hobby fire.
