Ballasting is a great way to give your layout the feeling of realism.
Tools:
Eye dropperElmer’s school glueWaterBallast mediumBrush (makeup brush works great)70% isopropyl alcoholBright boy Steps:
Put ballast on track spread around as desired. (Use a brush and fingers to move ballast atound)Remove any extra ballast from tiesZpray with alcohol so its dampMix 50/50 Elmer’s glue with water.Use eye dropper to apply glue/water mix onto ballast, ensure all ballast is covered with glue/water mixLet dry over nightOnce dry use bright boy to clean railVacume any lose ballast from trackRun some trains & enjoy the look of a great track!
