Electric Train Shop – 625 SW 152nd Street, Burien, WA 98166

This is a clean and organized shop. Within the first 5 min I understood the layout and figured out where to go to look for items. That is such a great feeling when you are in a store and it feels organized. This shop is also extremely clean with bright lights so you can get a good feel for the items you are interested in. All around a great layout.

They have a train that goes overhead so if you have little ones this place is worth checking out and lifting up the youngin’s so they can see the track travel around the track.

The Staff are friendly. Unfortunately I got stuck with a guys who spent 20 min telling me about his layout and his clubs layout. When ever I asked a question about HO trains he would go into another story about his layout someone else ne knows. This was a little frustrating as I was looking for a DCC HO train starter set. And he never did show me any trains. I was on a limited time and couldn’t seem to get away from this guy. The only product that he did show me was the NCE controller, when I said that I am running my DCC with Arduino he expressed his discuss with that configuration. He said good luck keeping the trains running and then went into yet another story about a show he was at and they couldn’t get a layout going because of the computer not working.

I did pick up a few bits and pieces from his stories that helped me think how to do my layout but overall wasn’t the best experience. I ended up leaving and didn’t spend any money, a shame because I really liked the layout of the shop. This guy works every Saturday, so ill try to hit up this shop again during the week.
